Cannes Film Festival winners 2010

The winners of the 63rd Cannes Film Festival have been announced:

Palme d'Or (Golden Palm)- Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives by Apichatpong Weerasethakul (Thailand)

Grand Prize- Of Gods and Men by Xavier Beauvois (France)

Jury Prize- A Screaming Man by Mahamat-Saleh Haroun (Chad)

best director- Mathieu Amalric for On Tour (France)

best screenplay- Lee Chang-Dong for Poetry (Korea)

best actor- Javier Bardem in Biutiful (Mexico) and Elio Germano in La Nostra Vita (Italy)

best actress- Juliette Binoche in Certified Copy (Iran)

Camera d'Or (first-time director): Ano Bisiesto by Michael Rowe (Mexico)

best short film- Chienne d'Histoire by Serge Avedikian (France)

Outer Critics Circle awards 2010

The winners of the 60th Outer Critics Circle awards were announced Monday.

"Memphis" and "La Cage aux Folles" each won four awards. "Memphis" was declared outstanding new Broadway musical, while "La Cage aux Folles" was outstanding revival of a musical.

Catherine Zeta-Jones ("A Little Night Music") and Montego Glover ("Memphis") were both named outstanding actress in a musical.

The Outer Critics Circle is an association of writers and commentators for all media covering New York theater.

The awards are to be given May 27.
